Fenchurch on test

The February Canal Boat is out, and includes my test of the Norton Canes boat, Fenchurch. It's a great boat with a classic Gardner engine, and traditional controls. I have to confess that the finished article turned out a bit long, and my efforts to shorten it failed somewhat. So I'm pleased that the editor has given the test eight pages, rather than the usual seven.

Hmm. My copy of CB hasn't arrived. Perhaps the subscription has expired! I'll have to ask my mum if she's had a reminder - she bought me the subscription as a Christmas present a couple of years ago.

Hi Halfie, it may just be because everything's running a bit late because of the holidays. Usually, the official publication date is a Thursday, but our subscription issue arrives the Monday before. This issue has only turned up today though.

Thanks again from all of us at Norton Canes.

Panic over - my copy was waiting for me when I got home from work! Now I just have to finish last month's edition (always too much to do in December...)

It's not fair..... My January edition of Canal Boat only arrived here in Australia yesterday. Now I have another month to wait for February. They need a 'two man' canoe!

Tom, at least when it's February you'll be expecting the February issue; in March the March one and so on. That seems sensible to me - why can't magazine publishers date their issues with the month in which they appear?
