Hampstead Lock, River Medway

Yesterday, I was at Hampstead Lock on the River Medway in Kent.  It's only a few miles from where I grew up, yet I don't ever remember coming here before.  There are a couple of marinas nearby, filled with plastic boats, and the lock itself is very large -- large enough to make even double locks look small.

That lock looks in great condition - does the Medway have much traffic these days?

We've been nudging the St Pancras Cruising Club crowd to do a convoy down the Thames and up the Medway. I think they did one many many years ago. We'd definitely be up for it....

We will cruise down there one day.....we're both Kent-ites and it's a stone's throw from where we lived for 25 years before moving aboard Derwent6
