Beyond the bridge, which has a chain across it, are a few moored boats. It's a pleasant spot, apart from the busy road which runs alongside.
The locks will probably need a bit of tidying up when the Droitwich Canal re-opens, to remove the plants growing in the walls. The water level in the pound below the lock is a couple of feet lower than it should be, but even so, it's a deep lock.
There are three locks in total here.

I took a walk all the way through Droitwich last week, and very inviting it was too. I will be running a post in a week or so.

I contacted BW aaking when the canal through Droitwich would open and got this reply -
The full ring will not be open this autumn, unfortunately due to the economic downturn a development in Droitwich has not gone ahead, this is critical to allow us to secure the land we need to build the last section of canal. The partners are working to provide a solution that will see it completed as soon as practical. It is not an if, but a when.
The Droitwich Barge Canal is anticipated to be opened this summer to restore the connection between the River Severn and Droitwich.
