It's now a month since we left Debdale frozen in at Tixall Wide. In the intervening time, plans were made for a rescue, but the weather didn't co-operate. It seems there's now a widespread thaw, although the
webcam at Great Haywood Marina still shows plenty of ice. Of course the next problem will be that stoppages between Tixall and Autherley Junction mean that whoever rescues the boat will have to go the long way round, back through Birmingham.

ReplyDeleteIt'll be a few days yet before we see enough thaw to allow movement, I would guess.
I'll email an update when we see some action!
Cheers

Hi Guys,
ReplyDeleteBirmingham is still stuck solid, will let you know when we can can move!
"the next problem ... mean(s) that whoever rescues the boat will have to go the long way round, back through Birmingham".
ReplyDeleteI thought that would be an opportunity, not a "problem"!!
:-)
Good Luck
More of a problem than first thought -- as there are also stoppages on the Curdworth flight, meaning the Birmingham route is out too!

ReplyDeleteThe work boats to do the Curdworth flight are still stuck in the Icknield depot, so I expect that stoppage to slip, no pun intented.
ReplyDeleteHi Adam
ReplyDeleteWe are still iced in at Warwick & are waiting to move back to Crick, but there are stoppages too at Braunston on 10th Jan 2011 (I think) otherwise we are stuck too!
