Mile End Lock


Mile End Lock is overlooked by a lovely double-fronted cottage, with the most extraordinary extension on the side. Personally, I quite like it.

    There is a similarly avant-garde house extension beside the Grand Union in Harefield. What is it that attracts crazy architects to towpaths, I wonder?
